In our latest commercial roofing project, we tackled a truly unique challenge at a historic winery undergoing a transformation for a new commercial purpose. The existing roof was a Modified Bitumen Roof with an Aluminum Coating, consisting of two layers that had stood the test of time.
This wasn’t your typical roof replacement. The winery’s old fermentation tanks, which were integral to its previous operation, needed to be removed to repurpose the space. The only way to remove these massive tanks was through the roof, which required us to cut a large opening in the structure. This intricate process was critical to the transformation of the building, allowing for its new commercial use.
After safely removing the tanks and coordinating with other trades, we installed a new Modified Bitumen Roof. This choice maintained the building’s durability while providing a fresh start for its new purpose.
Complex Coordination: This project demanded extreme coordination with other trades to ensure that the tank removal and roof replacement were seamlessly executed.
Safety Measures: Due to the structural alterations, rigorous safety measures were implemented to protect both the workers and the integrity of the building.
Preservation and Transformation: While the roof was replaced, the essence of the historic winery was preserved, showcasing how modern roofing solutions can support adaptive reuse of older structures.
