For Project #1405, we tackled a roofing upgrade designed to improve both durability and drainage efficiency. Here’s a breakdown of what we accomplished:
The building featured a smooth Built-Up Roof (BUR) with a single layer. As per code, this allowed us to proceed with an overlay system without the additional cost of installing polyiso insulation.
The roof had reached the end of its service life and was experiencing drainage issues, making it essential to enhance water management and overall performance.
We installed a fully adhered densdeck board for enhanced hail resistance, followed by a fully adhered TPO system engineered to provide superior wind resistance. This combination delivers exceptional durability against harsh weather conditions.
To resolve drainage issues, we incorporated new tapered insulation boards, promoting positive drainage towards the existing rooftop drains. This critical improvement ensures effective water runoff and helps extend the lifespan of the new roof.
By opting for a fully adhered TPO system, this project not only addressed the client’s drainage concerns but also reinforced the roof’s resilience against wind and hail.
