Project Spotlight: Replacing an Out-of-Code Roof with 60 Mill TPO

In our latest project, we undertook the challenge of replacing a complex roofing system on a commercial building. The existing roof consisted of multiple layers, including Acrylic Coating over Foam, Modified Bitumen, and Built-Up Roofing.

Reason for Replacement

The roof suffered significant hail damage, and the replacement was funded by insurance. Additionally, the existing roof had three layers, which is out of compliance with current building codes that only allow for two roofing systems on a commercial structure.

The New Roofing Solution

To bring the building up to code and provide a robust roofing system, we installed a 60 Mill TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) roof over two layers of Polyiso insulation. This setup ensures compliance with building regulations while offering excellent durability, energy efficiency, and weather resistance.

Project Outcome

The new 60 Mill TPO roof not only meets current building codes but also provides superior protection against the elements. The TPO membrane is known for its high resistance to UV radiation, chemicals, and punctures, ensuring long-lasting performance and reduced maintenance costs.
